Long'ish Bio
Joseph Goldsmith is the CEO and Executive Producer of Persimmon Lane Studios, LLC; an audio and video production company. He is originally from Southern Maryland and now lives in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He is a full time dad, husband, composer, location sound recordist, post-production audio engineer, soldier, and GRAMMY-Nominated educator. He is also the Audio Director for Plover Animation which is staffed of alumni from Disney, Dreamworks, Sony, and more. Joseph has worked in the music, film, and graphic design industries as well as ministry since 2011. In his military service, he serves as the Civil Military and Public Affairs Officer and Combat Camera Squad of the 3rd Battalion for the South Carolina State Guard.
He earned degrees of Cum Laude Honors Bachelor of Science Degree in Vocal Music Education from Frostburg State University; Master of Music Degree from Kent State University in 2013; and an Advanced Professional Certificate from Maryland State Department of Education. He studied choral conducting under Dr. Karen Soderberg-Sarnaker and voice under Dr. Jonathon Hodel, Dr. Kerry Jennings, and Prof. Jennifer Cooper.
During his educational tenure, Joseph served middle and high school students in Maryland and South Carolina for 12 years. He directed choirs, taught world music/ethnomusicology, and multimedia while also serving as performing arts department chair. Joseph is proud to say that he was a recipient of annual superior evaluations, guest lectured twice for the Maryland Music Educators State Conference, and dozens of true success stories living in his former students.
In the past, Joseph has been a chorister in the GRAMMY Award winning choir The Washington Chorus based in DC, headlined several collegiate operas and musicals, performed God Bless America at Washington Nationals Park, the National Anthem at Camden Yards with Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and has traveled to China as a singer in a music tour that promoted friendly relations between Chinese and American universities.
Living in South Carolina has provided opportunities to Joseph that he has been working toward for years. Here, he is able to use his background in music, performance, design, and hospitality to its full potential!
